Definitely playable, maybe champion for tankiness w/ decent dmg (aura effect on flat ele auras, malev, etc is very strong). Another variant that you can start with is Snipe BA, where Snipe's massive damage multiplier carries you hard, although the channelling playstyle is not for everyone.
